ABOUT ME

I am a social worker, activist, and advocate. I also love to enjoy life! I travel, party, explore, and work towards creating lasting memories, experiences that help me grow, and life-long friendships! Although I LOVE to travel, it is one of my greatest passions, I also fear the increased risks that I face traveling as a single woman. I know that other women have similiar concerns, and I seek to do something about this!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in making the best out of life by following your own rules and in promoting equality and social justice. I believe this is work we all must engage in, in our own way. I believe we should plot our life to meet our life goals instead of blindly following a path that we do not believe in. I believe in resiliency of the human spirit and am inspired by others stories of overcoming obstacles and acheiving their life dreams.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will begin traveling in 2012 and I will be interviewing women travelers and compiling stories, advice, and words of wisdom. I hope to create a large network of people who are concerned about the safety and wellbeing of women travelers. For this initiative I plan on going to.. Cuba, Brazil, South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Turkey

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far! Not formally anyway. Everywhere that I have traveled I have stayed with friends or friends of friends. I have had some fantastic experiences and some that were akward and I felt my safety was in jeopardy.

Interests

I currently live in Miami and I love to enjoy all that the city has to offer! This weekend I will be going to the Art Basel event, to an alumni party at a beach house in Fort Lauderdale, will attend my community church, and go to a Dolphins v. Raiders football game! In between I will surely party and enjoy the great outdoors!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took flying lessons in Brazil. A family friend set it up for me and I didn't exactly know what I was getting into. Everyone laughed because I was flying a plan wearing a dress! Lol
